Additional Information

James Davidson is recorded as a child of William Davidson and Sarah McCune.

He was born in 1742 at Carlisle, Pennsylvania and died in 1836 at Canton, Ohio.

He married Jane Hudson about 1770 in Pennsylvania.

Their recorded children include Sarah Davidson, born May 10, 1774 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; Jane Davidson, born in 1782 in Union County, Pennsylvania; and William Davidson, born February 14, 1783 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and died in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

Davidson family tradition identifies a Davidson-Hudson union because of the name George Hudson Davidson. The supplied notes say this union is supported by that tradition and by World Family Trees numbers 2181, 4590, and 4619. The same note says James served in the Army during the Revolutionary War and that contacts had been made to locate his war record.

James lived in Pennsylvania until around 1820, when he moved to Ohio, probably at the same time his daughter Sarah and her family moved. He died in Ohio in 1836.
