John Davidson was a son of William Ranger Davidson and Rosanna Hutchinson. The South Point history says he came west from Pennsylvania in 1801 at age 31 and settled at Burlington, Ohio, where he was a farmer and merchant until his death in 1828. His wife, Margaret Armstrong, died two years later.
