She was the daughter of Raphael Payne and Winifred Porter Payne. She married George Hudson Davidson on April 11, 1837 in Knox County, Ohio.
The Carey Times obituary called her Mrs. Rachel Davidson, or Mother Davidson, and said she died at her residence in Salem Township from cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held from St. Joseph's Church, and the obituary said she was in her 73rd year and left ten children, four boys and six girls.
